Inflated rubber balloons can be used for forming concrete structures such as small bridges, culverts, and even houses. The inflated rubber form is shaped using metal tie down straps, then reinforcing steel is placed on bar supports over the inflated form. Finally, several inches of concrete are pouredover the top of the form. They are also used as a flotation device in order to salvage ships or to transport equipment over water.
